Who we are

Camara Obscura is an amateur, non-profit, LARP community.

Contact

When you contact the community, either through the contact form or by filling out the character creation form, we collect the contact information you provided. This is to facilitate communication between the community organizers and you, and to respond to your request.

Participation

When you join the community, we collect your name and email address from you. This allows us to contact you about community events, as well as give you access to our character management tools.

Characters and stories, including those submitted by players to games within Camara Obscura, are owned by Camara Obscura. Your participation in the Game means that you relinquish all ownership of the character and stories resulting from your character's participation in the game.

Cookies

We may use cookies (small text files stored on your computer) to ensure the proper functioning of our website. These files do not harm your device and do not contain viruses or other malware.

Cookies store information linked to the specific terminal used, but this does not mean that we know your identity.

If you wish to withdraw your consent or object to the processing, you can do so at any time by contacting the organizers of Camara Obscura.

Photos taken at Camara Obscura events are copyright of our photographers and are licensed to Camara Obscura for fair and legal use.

Use and Protection of Personal Data

The personal data you provide us is used exclusively for the purposes of organizing and participating in community events and for communicating with you. Your personal data is stored securely and is not disclosed to third parties except as required by law or disclosed in this policy.

Our website is hosted by Hetzner Online GmbH, acting as data controller. To read their privacy policy, click here.

Communications may be monitored through an automated spam filter system.

How long we keep your data

If you send us a message using either the contact form or via email, your message will be deleted within thirty (30) days, unless there is further communication between us.

The personal data you provide in your request to participate in our events will be retained until you request its deletion (and thereby stop your participation in community activities).

Your rights

You have the following rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). These rights are not absolute and when you submit a request, Camara Obscura organizers will evaluate your request:

1. You have the right to access your personal data: You have the right to access the personal data processed by the site controller.

2. You have the right to rectification: You have the right to request the correction of any inaccurate personal data concerning you.

3. You have the right to erasure: You have the right to request the erasure of your personal data under certain circumstances.

4. You have the right to restriction of processing: You have the right to restrict the processing of your personal data in certain cases.

5. You have the right to data portability: You have the right to receive your personal data in a structured, widely used and machine-readable format and you have the right to transmit this data to another controller.

6. You have the right to object: You have the right to object to the processing of your personal data in certain cases.

7. You have the right not to be subject to automated individual decision-making: You have the right not to be subject to a decision based solely on automated processing, including profiling on our website, which produces legal effects for you or similarly significantly affects you.

We do not own any of the logos, names, books and anything related to the games themselves included and used in Camara Obscura.

Camara Obscura's LARP, and all stories derived from it, are not official World of Darkness material.
